New Classes for 2025
On Friday we will be announcing our new classes for 2025. As mentioned in previous newsletters....
At Kapakapanui School, creating balanced and effective classes is a thoughtful process. We consider factors such as gender, abilities, friendships, and a mix of loud and quiet personalities to ensure a positive and supportive learning environment for all tamariki. Where possible, children remain with the same class and teacher for two years unless a teacher is moving to a new class. We understand that transitioning to a new class can be challenging for some children, so we encourage you to support your child with positive messages about the change. This is a great opportunity to help build their resilience, adaptability, and confidence as they embrace new experiences and friendships.
If your child arrives home on Friday upset about their new class, please don’t overreact. Remain calm and remember that as parents, you are the "weather" for your children—they will reflect your emotions. Take a deep breath and use this as an opportunity to help your child develop resilience. By providing reassurance and maintaining a positive outlook, you can help them navigate this change with confidence and a sense of possibility. Ngā mihi
